Issue: License Warning
Product: Pearl Echo
Applies to: All Builds

Background:

The Pearl Echo Server accepts connections from the Pearl Echo agents running on your managed workstations. The number of connections accepted is limited to the amount of licenses purchased. If you have more agents deployed than you have licenses purchased, you may receive the following email warning:

Your Pearl Echo license count is not adequate. This will cause client performance issues and reporting errors.

You may also be notified of this condition when you enter the Pearl Echo Administration Console.

Solution:

You will need to purchase the requisite number of licenses or remove the Pearl Echo Workstation software from enough workstations to bring your Pearl Echo Workstation software deployment and your license count in line. You can view the number of licenses being requested in the Help | About Pearl Echo menu. You can determine which machines have successfully connected to the Pearl Echo Server in the past by running the "Installed Machines" report from the Pearl Echo Report Manager.

It is important to rectify this situation as performance problems will result and reporting statistics will be inconsistent. Each workstation that has been denied a license will continue to request a license from the Pearl Echo server until the license request is satisfied. These requests are persistent and are being responded to by the Pearl Echo Server software. In addition, licenses are granted on a first come – first served basis which will result in inconsistent monitoring and control of the environment.
